
This guy was much heavier than it looked. I had some concern at first as to whether or not the table could handle it. Then I realized how many times I had stood in the middle of the table without any problems.
I used 7 lights, including the background, to bring out the color and depth of the this geode half. It is actually much deeper than it looks here, but in order to maintain good color, I sacrificed showing some of it weight.
There are a couple of groups of double-terminated chrystals that are really unusual for quartz inside geodes. Also, some of the chrystals are really big with great color. Overall the color is fairly rich.
